Jimmy Choo Launches Sketching Competition

In these unique and challenging times, luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo has launched a sketching competition on Instagram that is perfect for all shoe lovers.

Titled 'Choo Sketch', the competition invites fans of the brand to submit the sketches of their ultimate fantasy shoe which will be part of an exclusive capsule of five styles in a forthcoming collection.

From the entrants received, each week a new sketch will be chosen and featured by creative director Sandra Choi on the brands' Instagram account. Ten designs will be put forward to a public vote on Instagram (from 1 June 2020 to the midnight of 7 June 2020)of which the top five designs from the public vote will then be manufactured for the Capsule Collection in 2021.

The five finalists will each be provided with a pair of their winning shoes and all profits from the Capsule Collection will go to a charity under The Jimmy Choo Foundation's umbrella which will be chosen prior to launch.

'I wanted to share my love of sketching with the Jimmy Choo community in the hope that it will provide a moment of escape whilst we are all united by the challenges we are currently facing together,' said Choi in a press release.

'It's important to try to keep a positive mindset during these challenging times. The world is fighting something invisible to the eye that can be mentally and emotionally draining,' Choi explains. 'For me, nature has always provided much needed escapism, watching the world continue to flourish as our usual way of life is interrupted has been enlightening. Never more than now have we needed to look to things that help our minds keep calm and stay positive. For my first Choo Sketch, I have created a fantasy shoe that takes inspiration from the pure beauty of blossom contrasting against an infinite blue sky backlit with rays of golden sunlight. Our lives are on pause but nature continues to weave her magic - that helps to fuel my optimism.'
