Dior collaborates with Thebe Magugu for Charity Project


Iconic French fashion house Dior has tapped Contemporary South African fashion designer Thebe Magugu for a capsule collection interpreting its New Look.

The 29-year-old Johannesburg-based designer who is a winner of the 2019 LVMH Prize was tapped by Dior's artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri to create the collection for the benefit of the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. South African youth driven by Charlize Theron. Founded in 2007 by the Academy Award winning actress, CTAOP is a charity that creates AIDS prevention and education programs for young South Africans.

The capsule comprises of a cotton T-shirt with straps, a pleated tulle flare skirt, a Dior Book Tote, a bucket hat with dangling TM-logo ribbons; a silk twill scarf, and lace-up Dior camp boots with a bright yellow sole. All of the pieces encompass a white, black and yellow palette with Magugu establishing a dialogue between the two studios and creative workshops through his feminist and contemporary vision.

The Thebe Magugu x CTAOP exclusive limited edition capsule will be available from October 27 in Dior stores in Paris, New York and Los Angeles.
