Zoe Ghertner is an American photographer and director based in Los Angeles. She is best known for her vibrant, dreamy, and often surreal images that explore themes of identity, femininity, and the natural world.

Ghertner was born in New York City and grew up in the Hudson Valley. She studied photography at Bard College before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in photography. She has since become one of the most sought-after photographers in the fashion industry, shooting for major publications such as Vogue, W Magazine, and Harper’s Bazaar.

Ghertner’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world including at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Los Angeles, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) New York, The Photographers’ Gallery London, and The International Center of Photography (ICP) New York. Her work has also been featured in several books including “The Female Gaze: Women Photographers on Beauty” (2018), “The Female Gaze: Women Photographers on Identity” (2019), and “The Female Gaze: Women Photographers on Nature” (2020).

In addition to her photography career, Ghertner has also directed music videos for artists such as Haim and Billie Eilish. She has also directed commercials for brands such as Nike and Apple Music.

Ghertner is passionate about using her platform to promote female empowerment and environmental conservation. In 2020 she launched a new initiative called “Women Who Shoot” which aims to support female photographers by providing mentorship opportunities and resources.

Ghertner continues to push boundaries with her work while inspiring others with her creative vision.
