Ulrich Hartmann is a German photographer and filmmaker who has been capturing stunning images of the world around him for over 30 years. Born in Berlin in 1965, he developed an early interest in photography and began taking pictures at the age of 12. After studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, he went on to work as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.

In the early 1990s, Ulrich began to focus on documentary photography, traveling to places such as India, China, and South America to capture images of people and cultures that were often overlooked by mainstream media. His work has been featured in numerous publications including National Geographic, Stern Magazine, and The New York Times.

In addition to his photographic work, Ulrich has also directed several documentaries about social issues such as poverty and human rights abuses. His films have been screened at festivals around the world including Cannes Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival. He has also won several awards for his work including the German Camera Award for Best Documentary Film in 2006.

Ulrich continues to travel around the world capturing stunning images that tell stories about people and cultures that are often overlooked by mainstream media. He is currently based in Berlin where he works as a freelance photographer and filmmaker.
