Steve Mackey is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He has been shooting professionally for over 20 years, and his work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, and Vanity Fair.

Mackey was born in San Francisco, California in 1975. He developed an interest in photography at a young age, and began taking pictures of his friends and family with a 35mm camera he received as a gift from his parents. After graduating high school, he attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he earned a degree in photography.

After college, Mackey moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a professional photographer. He quickly established himself as one of the city’s top photographers, shooting for clients such as Nike, Adidas, and Apple. His work has also been featured on television shows such as The Voice and American Idol.

In addition to commercial work, Mackey is also an accomplished fine art photographer. His photographs have been exhibited at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Tate Modern in London. In 2017 he released his first book of photographs titled “The Human Condition” which was met with critical acclaim.

Mackey continues to push boundaries with his photography by exploring new techniques and technologies such as drone photography and virtual reality imaging. He is currently working on several projects including a documentary about the effects of climate change on coastal communities around the world.
