Deane was born in New York City and grew up in a family of photographers. His father was a professional photographer and his mother was an amateur photographer. From an early age, Deane was exposed to photography and developed a passion for it. He attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied photography and film. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer for various publications including National Geographic and Time Magazine.

Throughout his career, Deane has won numerous awards for his work including the World Press Photo Award in 2006 for his series on African refugees. He has also been featured in several books including “The Best of Rodney Deane” which showcases some of his most iconic images from around the world.

Deane’s work is characterized by its vivid colors and unique perspectives that capture moments that are often overlooked by other photographers. His photographs have been exhibited in galleries around the world and have been featured in numerous publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Wall Street Journal.
