About

Lucia Giacani is an Italian photographer who has been capturing the beauty of the world for over two decades. She is known for her unique style of photography, which combines elements of fashion, portraiture, and documentary photography.

Giacani was born in Milan in 1971 and began her career as a fashion photographer in the early 1990s. She quickly gained recognition for her work, which often featured models in natural settings or with a dreamy quality to them. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue Italia, Marie Claire, and Glamour.

In addition to her fashion photography, Giacani has also worked on several documentary projects. In 2006 she released a book titled “The Other Side of Italy” which focused on the lives of people living in rural areas of Italy. She has also traveled extensively throughout Europe and Africa to capture images that tell stories about the people and places she visits.

Giacani’s work has been exhibited around the world including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and at galleries in Paris, London, Tokyo, and Milan. In 2017 she was awarded the prestigious Leica Oskar Barnack Award for her series “The Other Side of Italy” which was shot over a period of five years.

Giacani continues to travel around the world capturing images that tell stories about people and places that are often overlooked by mainstream media outlets. Her work is an important reminder that beauty can be found everywhere if we take the time to look for it.
