Born in Berlin in 1971, Judith Benda-Jura developed an early interest in photography and art. She studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, Germany, where she graduated with a degree in photography and media design. After graduating, she worked as a freelance photographer for several years before establishing her own studio in Berlin.

Throughout her career, Judith Benda-Jura has explored a variety of photographic genres including portraiture, documentary photography, fashion photography, and fine art photography. Her work often focuses on themes of identity and belonging, exploring the relationship between people and their environment.
