Born in Lancashire, England in 1988, Hawkesworth developed an interest in photography at an early age. He studied photography at the University of Westminster and graduated with a BA in 2010.

Hawkesworth's work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, The New York Times Magazine, and W Magazine. His photographs have also been exhibited at galleries around the world including the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
