Ivan Monagas is a Venezuelan photographer and visual artist based in Caracas. He is best known for his vibrant and colorful images of everyday life in Venezuela.

Monagas was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1985. He began his career as a photographer at the age of 16, when he started taking pictures of his friends and family. His passion for photography grew over the years, and he eventually decided to pursue it professionally.

In 2008, Monagas graduated from the University of Caracas with a degree in photography and visual arts. After graduation, he began working as a freelance photographer for various publications and companies. His work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, GQ, and Harper's Bazaar.

Monagas' work focuses on capturing the beauty of everyday life in Venezuela. He often uses bright colors to create vivid images that capture the vibrancy of Venezuelan culture. His photographs have been exhibited around the world, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Tate Modern in London.

In addition to his photography work, Monagas is also an active member of several social justice organizations that focus on human rights issues in Venezuela. He has used his platform to raise awareness about the political situation in his home country and to advocate for change.

Monagas' work has earned him numerous awards throughout his career, including being named one of PDN's 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch (2015) and receiving a Lucie Award for Photojournalism (2016).
