About

Filippo Fortis is an Italian photographer and visual artist based in Milan. He is best known for his unique style of photography, which combines elements of documentary, fashion, and fine art.

Fortis was born in Milan in 1983 and grew up surrounded by art and culture. His father was a painter and his mother a sculptor, so it was only natural that he would develop an interest in the visual arts. He began taking photographs at a young age, experimenting with different techniques and styles.

Fortis studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he developed his signature style of combining documentary, fashion, and fine art elements into his work. After graduating from the academy, he began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and publications. His work has been featured in numerous publications such as Vogue Italia, GQ Italy, L'Uomo Vogue, Vanity Fair Italy, Elle Italia, Marie Claire Italia, Glamour Italia and many more.

In addition to his commercial work for magazines and publications, Fortis has also exhibited his work in galleries around the world including New York City's Aperture Gallery and London's Saatchi Gallery. He has also been commissioned to create works for private collections as well as public institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in Rome.

Fortis' work is characterized by its unique blend of documentary realism with fashion-inspired aesthetics. His photographs often feature everyday people living their lives in urban settings or on the streets of Italy's cities. Through his images he captures moments that are both intimate yet universal; moments that speak to us all regardless of our backgrounds or cultures.

Filippo Fortis continues to push boundaries with his photography while staying true to his signature style; creating images that are both beautiful and thought-provoking at the same time.
