About

Delphine Brunner is a French photographer and visual artist based in Paris. She is known for her unique and captivating images that explore the relationship between people and their environment.

Born in Paris in 1982, Delphine developed an early interest in photography, taking pictures of her family and friends from a young age. After studying photography at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, she began to focus on documentary photography, exploring themes such as identity, memory, and place.

In 2008, Delphine was awarded the Prix du Jeune Photographe de l'Année by the French Ministry of Culture for her series “The Other Side of the Wall” which documented life on both sides of the Berlin Wall. This series was exhibited at numerous galleries across Europe and was published as a book in 2010.

Since then, Delphine has continued to explore themes of identity and place through her work. Her projects have taken her around the world from India to South America to Africa. In 2013 she was awarded a grant from the French Ministry of Culture to document life in rural France. This project resulted in her book “Rural France: A Photographic Journey” which was published in 2015.

Delphine’s work has been exhibited internationally including at the Rencontres d'Arles festival, The International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City, The Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) in Paris, and The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Houston.
