About

Aneev Rao is an Indian photographer and visual artist based in Mumbai. He is known for his unique style of photography, which combines elements of documentary, street, and fine art photography.

Rao was born in Mumbai in 1988 and grew up in the city's suburbs. He developed an interest in photography at a young age, and began taking pictures with his father's camera when he was just 12 years old. After completing his schooling, Rao pursued a degree in Visual Communication from the University of Mumbai. During this time, he developed a passion for street photography and began to explore the city through his lens.

In 2012, Rao held his first solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai. Since then, he has exhibited his work at various galleries around India and abroad. His photographs have been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Vogue India, and Harper's Bazaar India.

Rao's work focuses on capturing everyday life in India with an emphasis on its people and culture. He often uses long exposures to create dream-like images that evoke emotion and tell stories about the lives of those he photographs. His work has been praised for its ability to capture the beauty of everyday life while also highlighting social issues such as poverty and inequality.

Rao continues to live and work in Mumbai where he is currently working on a new series of photographs exploring the city's changing landscape.
