Ali Mahdavi is an Iranian-born photographer and filmmaker based in Paris, France. He is best known for his fashion photography, which has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle.

Mahdavi was born in Tehran, Iran in 1975. He moved to Paris at the age of 18 to pursue a career in photography. After studying at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, he began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and advertising campaigns.

In 2003, Mahdavi released his first book of photographs entitled "The Art of Ali Mahdavi". The book featured a collection of his fashion photography from the past decade. Since then, he has released several other books including "The Beauty of Life" (2005), "The Art of Fashion" (2007), and "The Art of Movement" (2009).

Mahdavi's work has been exhibited around the world including at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. He has also directed several music videos for artists such as Madonna and Kylie Minogue. In addition to his photography and filmmaking work, Mahdavi is also an accomplished painter whose works have been exhibited at galleries around the world.

Throughout his career, Mahdavi has received numerous awards including the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) Gold Award for Best Fashion Photography (2008) and the International Color Awards Grand Prize Winner (2010). His work continues to be highly sought after by fashion magazines and advertising campaigns around the world.
