Gucci launches special beauty Instagram account


Italian fashion house Gucci has launched a new Instagram account @guccibeauty full of historical artworks that reflect creative director Alessandro Michele 's vision of beauty.

The account which has around 58 posts has quickly garnered 60k followers. Posts include a large collection of artworks that indicate the beauty ideals of different periods in history. There are English portraits from the time of Queen Elizabeth I, works of art with African and Asian influences and works from ancient Egypt dating back to 2000 years before Christ.

Each work is provided with a caption, describing the stories behind the artworks. All works of art come from private collections and well-known museums, such as the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Harlem Studio Museum. Overall, the posts dive deeper into the idea of how beauty ideals have been preserved and evolved, and the way beauty is interpreted by different eras and cultures.

The Instagram account serves as an expression of Gucci's philosophy and is a platform to reveal looks from fashion shows, collaborations, and new launches, including fragrance and makeup.
