Coco Chanel Goes West In New Chanel Film



Chanel's ongoing series of short films "Inside Chanel" provides exciting insights into the history of the traditional house and its protagonists. Its latest episode 25 titled "Gabrielle Chanel Goes West" tells of Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel's for America and how she conquered the USA with her designs.

The three-minute short film charts her journey to New York in 1931, where she was given a warm welcome. During her visit overseas, Gabrielle made acquaintance with Hollywood greats such as Greta Garbo and was inducted into the Hall of Fame that same year. She was also awarded the Neiman Marcus Fashion World award, known as the 'Oscar of Fashion,' in Dallas in 1957 and became a household name. She went on to design clothing for several celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, Jackie Kennedy, Jane Fonda, Katharine Hepburn, and Jean Seberg.
