Brand of the Week: Kitx

Each week, we take the time to highlight our favorite Fashion brands. Last week, we profiled San Francisco-based brand Allbirds and this week we've decided to feature luxury designer fashion brand Kitx.

The ethical and sustainable designer brand was founded in 2015 by Australian designer Kit Willow who decided to build a new brand promoting ethical and sustainable design and manufacture following, her departure from her namesake label Willow in 2013.

The brand's name is an acronym for Kindness, Integrity and Transparency, with X marking the future. Built on a belief of ethical, sustainable fashion, the brand is the result of collaboration with global organizations including Nest and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), as well as like-minded suppliers.

Kitx holds the simple mantra of wanting to make women feel good, without harming our planet. Its garments are created from sustainable material: fabrics from plastic garbage that is trashing our oceans, sourced consciously from around the world and it works with artisans in India.

Kitz made its debut at Paris Fashion Week with its spring/summer '15 collection. Within 18 months of its launch, the brand was picked up around the world, garnering stockists including Selfridges and Browns in London, David Jones in Australia and the luxury etailers Moda Operandi and Farfetch.
