Standing at 5'10", Franziska Frank is the Hamburg born and raised Elite Model Look winner 2004. Although being still in school, her modeling career took off quite quickly in 2007 with one week of London and her very first job, a Vogue cover with Liz Collins which was topped by a second cover the very same month - TUSH magazine - followed by a personality story inside TUSH about the new "German" league and her Guess by Marciano ad.
Apart from her graceful appearance and charming smile, this German eye-catcher has the necessary professionalism to climb to the top100 of the IFDAQ...

How did you get started in the modeling business?
Franziska: A friend of mine made an appointment with Model Management in Hamburg. So I went there to apply for their modelling competition which I have won at the end.

Did you ever think you'd be doing this?
Franziska: Nah! I have never thought about it at all. And I was even more surprised when I found myself on the cover of Vogue which was actually my very first job. What a strange feeling!

What do you like most about modeling?
Franziska: I really like to see the different cultures in all these different countries. But sometimes I feel a bit lonesome when travelling, that’s what I like the least.

Have you encountered any surprises along the way?
Franziska: I was really surprised that the people in this business mostly aren’t that superficial, as I thought before. A made bunches of friends that I’m in steady contact with on a private basis.

What has been your most awkward moment (of your modelling career)?
Franziska: There was no one so far. Pheeew!

Ever get tempted to get pulled into the party scene?
Franziska: Not really. I rather enjoy the time with my boyfriend and my family when having the possibility to be at home. And in foreign countries even less since – thank God – I’m so busy workwise.

What are your favourite things to do in your free time?
Franziska: To begin with, I love to be with my dog and go for a big walk with her. Oh and I love horseback riding!

Out of all the places your career has taken you, where was the most memorable?
Franziska: I had been to Mombasa in Kenya last year. This region was really impressing to me because of this amazing and beautiful landscape and all those wild animals. India’s diversity was memorable – impressive on one hand but shocking on the other.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? What could be your next career?
Franziska: I really don’t know where I am in ten years, because it’s so far away. Everything could happen.

What are your best beauty secrets? How do you stay in shape?
Franziska: As I already said - I love to do horseback riding, that’s how I stay in shape when I’m at home. When I’m on a trip then I have my sport gear with me to work out. Oh and sorry for the boring answer, but as we all should already know by then: Drinking a lot of water is really good for beautiful skin. I have a bottle of water with me all the time.

What would you want people to know about you?
Franziska: Maybe they should know about me, that I always make funny noises when I see cute dogs (every dog is sweet, that’s the problem!) :D)

Any advice for new models? What advice would you give other models starting out?
Franziska: Most important is to be honest with yourself! And don’t be sad if you did a lot of castings but didn’t get any job out of it. That is just a business decision of a client and has nothing to do with you personally.

Favourite all-time model:
Franziska: Do you want to have a laugh? I never really focussed on models before I became one myself and rather by accident.

Favourite fashion designer:
Franziska: I really like the simplicity of Calvin Klein.

Favourite kind of food:
Franziska: I’m a “Deutsches Kartoffelkind” – potatoes, potatoes, potatoes – in every possible way!

Favourite kind of music:
Franziska: I rarely go out but if yes then I scream “House Music All Night Long!”. At home it’s a different scoop – mellower and really depending on my mood.

I'd like to meet:
Franziska: Hello Mr. Jack Bauer! :)

If I were trapped on an island I'd take:
Franziska: My MacBook and my doggy dog.

Thank you Franziska for this interview!
Special thanks to Pat and Model Management!
