Hugo Boss Pulls Out Of NYFW

Hugo Boss has announced that it will sit out of next season's New York Fashion Week in February.

The German brand's decision is part of its restructuring that focuses on its key lines more keenly towards menswear and strategic steps to orient its creation, marketing and communication activities more pointedly towards menswear.

'Our womenswear is, and will remain, a key component of our medium-term growth strategy, and the creative input offered by Jason Wu remains extremely important to us. We value his work very highly. However, it is essential that we achieve a better balance between our menswear, which has traditionally been so pivotal for us, and our womenswear,' Ingo Wilts, Chief Brand Officer Hugo Boss, said in a statement.

While it was earlier speculated that creative director Jason Wu was about to make his exit, Wilts clarified that Wu will remain an important part of the business.
