He studied photography at the Tokyo College of Photography and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts.

His photographs have also been exhibited in galleries around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the International Photography Award from the Photographic Society of Japan.
