Born in 1985, Wang Lei grew up in a small village near Beijing. From an early age, he was fascinated by the beauty of the natural world around him and began to take photographs as a way to capture it. After graduating from high school, he moved to Beijing to pursue his passion for photography.

In 2008, Wang Lei enrolled at the Central Academy of Fine Arts where he studied photography and visual arts. During this time, he developed an interest in documentary photography and began to focus on capturing the lives of people living in rural areas of China. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world and has been published in several books and magazines.

In addition to his photographic work, Wang Lei also works as a freelance photographer for various publications and organizations. He has traveled extensively throughout China documenting the lives of people living in remote areas that are often overlooked by mainstream media outlets. His work has been praised for its ability to capture both the beauty and hardship of life in rural China.
