Jesse Frohman is an American photographer who has been capturing iconic images of celebrities, musicians, and other public figures for over three decades. He is best known for his portraits of Kurt Cobain, which were taken shortly before the singer's death in 1994.

Frohman was born in New York City in 1962 and grew up in a family of photographers. His father was a commercial photographer and his mother was a photojournalist. From an early age, he was exposed to the art of photography and developed a passion for it.

Frohman attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied photography and film. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines such as Rolling Stone, GQ, Vanity Fair, and Vogue. He quickly gained recognition for his unique style of portraiture which often featured bold colors and dramatic lighting.

In 1994, Frohman had the opportunity to photograph Kurt Cobain for Rolling Stone magazine. The resulting images became some of the most iconic photographs ever taken of the musician and are now considered to be some of Frohman's most famous works.

Throughout his career, Frohman has photographed many other notable figures including Madonna, David Bowie, Johnny Depp, Bruce Springsteen, and President Barack Obama. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the National Portrait Gallery in London. In addition to his photography career, Frohman also teaches workshops on portrait photography at various institutions such as Parsons School of Design and International Center of Photography.
