Kim Kardashian lands her second (and first solo) Vogue cover

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to making headlines, be it for the right or wrong reasons. And the American reality television star has scored the front cover of the latest issue of Vogue Australia, in which she dons an all-white ensemble from Balmain's Spring/Summer 2015 ready-to-wear offering.

The February 2015 number of publication not only marked her second occasion fronting the fashion bible, but also the first time she does so solo. The thirty-four year-old brunette's first-ever Vogue cover saw her sharing the spotlight with her then fiancé, American hip hop recording artist Kanye West, in the United States edition's April 2014 issue.

And while the curvaceous mother-of-one's debut Vogue cover sparked quite a stir and put Anna Wintour (the long-time editor-in-chief of Vogue US) under fire on social media for her arguably questionable decision, the Aussie version's frontwoman Edwina McCann didn't think twice about having the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star front the glossy.

“Kim Kardashian is one of the most searched people on Google, with as many Instagram followers (23 million and counting) as there are Australians. She is polarising. She is a serious fashion fan. She is also awfully nice,” Vogue Australia's editor-in-chief told news.com.au. "She's a sweetie and I think sometimes with the L.A. factory, it’s easy to ridicule... there's a real disconnect between opinions of her and the reality of her."

“Obviously we shoot with a lot of famous people and there are diva antics, but Kim left her hotel at 6am and worked until dark and never complained once. She treated everyone on set with respect and dignity, from the assistants to the creators,” McCann added.
