The child of traveling missionary/teacher parents, Kroeker attended the Parsons School of Design, and his early work with intricate textures and luxurious fabrics drew heavily on inspiration from having lived in the Middle East. The Mark Kroeker line is made to order for a select group of boutiques and is considered a fashion insider's favorite.
His collection's advanced aesthetic and hand-crafted quality earned Kroeker the "Rising Star Award" for Women's Apparel by the Fashion Group International in 2001.
