Mr Pearl is a ready-to-wear fashion label named after a South African designer who moved to London's East End in the 1980s to work at the Royal Opera House as costume designer. Mr Pearl created corsets for Mugler, Dior, Ferré, and Galliano.
These literally took one's breath away, and were inspired by those belonging to his great grandmother, who was a dressmaker during the Belle Époque. Designed after rigorous study of anatomy and the history of dress, the refined and theatrical corsets of Mr Pearl are real works of art.
