The story of Fru.it begins with the Tombolini brothers - Vincenzo, Silvano, and Umberto. They started their journey as shoe designers, founding Tombolini snc in 1979, a small company devoted to designing, creating, and producing shoes​.

In 1985, the company's business model underwent a significant shift, thanks to Stefano Pantanetti. With his substantial background in the sector, Pantanetti transformed the company into a limited liability company (srl), cementing its position in its target markets​​.

By 1997, another transformation was in the offing. Umberto Tombolini decided to leave for personal reasons, leading to a redistribution of roles within the company. Silvano took charge of production, and Vincenzo became responsible for the creative design area​​.

A year later, in 1998, the company established a new 3,000 square meter headquarters. This space combined industrial processes with sophisticated, high-quality craftsmanship, particularly in the finer details of the footwear​​.

In 2007, the company underwent its final and most significant change. Tombolini srl was rebranded as Fru.it srl. The company's production approach was redefined around two key principles: constant pursuit of innovation and a strong artisan spirit, which was deemed a fundamental value of production and a unique asset for the company​.

Today, Fru.it's markets stretch across all Italian regions and numerous European and non-European countries, including France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, the USA, Japan, and Turkey​.
