about
For over 25 years Andrew Marc has had a truly American vision, representing the rebel in all of us, the love of our artful roots and the pride in our technological triumphs. A combination of luxury materials, innovative engineering & exclusive artisan details distinguishes Andrew Marc as an iconic American Brand.
Fine leather apparel and accessories are trademarks that launched Andrew Marc into the luxury fashion industry. In 1981, the introduction of the famous leather and fur bomber jacket went on to inspire leather and cloth outerwear collections based on the concepts driven by the jacket. The jacket became immediately the cornerstone to the company’s success. Soon thereafter the collection evolved into a diversified leather, wool and cloth outerwear company. In 1984 Andrew Marc created the secondary line Marc New York by Andrew Marc, serving as an entry point into the brand.
Most recently in 2008, the G-III Apparel Group, a leader in outerwear apparel, became the new owner of Andrew Marc. The purchase price, including working capital adjustments, was approximately $42 million.
Marc Moto, a Rebel Division of Andrew Marc, is the newest brand offering by Andrew Marc. Announced June 2010, Jones Apparel Group, Inc. won the license to manufacture and distribute this heritage collection with a fresh point of view.
Currently Andrew Marc label can be found in products for men’s and ladies such as soft leather goods, handbags, belts, travel bags, dresses and cold weather accessories.
Andrew Marc products can be found at Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor and Fine Specialty Stores in the USA: Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew and Fine Specialty Stores in Canada
Andrew Marc is most well known for its signature fur and leather bomber jacket. The approach to deliver a quality product based on innovation and materials, rather than pioneering style trends has kept the label thriving.
Andrew Marc is a luxury apparel line focusing mostly on men's and women's leather outerwear. Andrew Marc includes technology, materials and artisanship as features, but the line is positioned to be competitively priced against more expensive European designers. Although the styling is iconically American, the innovation in leather treatments developed by Andrew Marc are various and experimental, including waxes, distressing, pigmentation, oxidation and organic dying processes.
