- In 1966, Nigel Davies noticed the young Lesley and offered her a modeling contract.
- She was known for her large eyes, long eyelashes, and thin build. That last characteristic is the reason why she got her childhood nickname Twiggy. She was also famous for drawing long, fake eyelashes under her bottom lashes. These are, unsurprisingly, named Twiggys.
