- Nadja was sitting in a Berlin café when she was discovered by a scout at 19 years old. To start with she was unsuccessful but signed with Karin in 1990. About a year later she signed with Elite and her career was boosted in October 1993 when she dyed her hair platinum blonde.
- Her hair colour has changed numerous times and was cropped short in September 1994, following which she appeared simultaneously on the covers of Harper's Bazaar and US and UK Vogue.
- She appeared in 'Pirelli Calendar' in 1995.
- She appeared in George Michael's 'Too Funky' music video.
- Nadja featured in the Guiness Book of Records for the years 1997 and 1999 as the model with the longest legs at 44 inches (112cm) though this record has also been held by models Adriana Sklenarikova (almost 50" / 125cm) in 1998 and Ana Hickmann (46" / 117cm) in 2000.
- She played a role in the film 'Sleeping Beauty's Silent Death' (originally called Dornröschens leiser Tod)
