- Although Carla is Italian, she moved to Paris when she was five, but spent much of her childhood at a Swiss boarding school. She went on to study Arts and Architecture at the University of Paris. - It was her brother's girlfriend who suggested she should become a model and she signed with City Models in Paris when she was 19 years old. - She appeared in the 1995 Lavazza Calendar. - Carla recorded a success CD named 'Quelqu' un m'a dit' (NaÏve) in 2002. - She carried the Italian flag at the ceremony for the opening of 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. - She has a son named Aurélien. - She is now the first lady of France, because she got married to the president Nicolas Sarkozy.
