Selena Gomez Covers US Vogue's April 2017 Issue

For the first time in her career Selena Gomez graces the cover of the American Vogue.

The singer is cover star of the April edition of the fashion bible lensed by star photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Shot in Los Angeles, Selena wears a bralette and a skirt by Michael Kors, accessorized with Jennifer Fisher hoop earrings. The lush green background of the foliage and the floral patterns of her outfits forms an exciting contrast styled by Fashion Editor Camilla Nickerson.

'I want to thank Rob Haskell for writing my story. I was a little nervous at how honest I was but you depicted where I'm at perfectly. I'm so grateful @voguemagazine @mertalas @macpiggott ❤️', Gomez wrote in an Instagram post that announced the happy news to her 110 million followers.

Inside the magazine, she appears in a series of eye catching images that reprsent her more mature side. Sporting a Dolce & Gabbana dress with a rose print or a bikini by Tommy Hilfiger, decorated with a delicate flower pattern that conjure up spring.

In her interview with Rob Haskell, Selena opened up about the struggles she faced when it came to the transition of her music and how that affected a great deal of her mental health.

'It was one of the hardest things I've done, but it was the best thing I've done,' the 24 year old said of decision to stay at a clinic for 90 days for individual therapy, group therapy, even equine therapy.

With no movies in the works and no time pressure from her record label she feels like there is no pressure. 'For a change, it feels like I don't have to be holding my breath and waiting for somebody to judge a piece of work that I'm doing. I'm not eager to chase a moment. I don't think there's a moment for me to chase.'

However, despite the great public pressure, she also notes: 'I love what I do, and I'm aware of how lucky I am, but-how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can't wait for people to forget about me.'

The April issue of Vogue is on newsstands now.
