Suno Announces Closure

New York-based fashion label Suno is closing down.

The acclaimed women's luxury lifestyle brand who recently showcased its resort 2017 collection, announced that it will be ceasing it operations and closing shop, after over seven years in business.

'After eight extraordinary years, we have decided to close this chapter and let this resort collection be our last delivery. We have been humbled by the incredible support that we have had from the moment we launched. It's been a wild and wonderful journey and we would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has been there along the way,' Max Osterweis said in a statement of the label's closure.

Suno was established in 2008, when Max Osterweis first conceived of the idea to launch 'a luxury lifestyle brand with a conscience' after witnessing post-election violence in Kenya. He joined forces with designer Erin Beatty, a Parsons School of Design graduate who has worked with brands such as the GAP, Donna Karan Collection and Generra.

With a unique sensibility rooted in fresh silhouettes, vivid prints and textures, the brand developed a modest celebrity following of influential women such as First Lady Michelle Obama, Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, Christy Turlington, Beyonce and Taylor Swift to name a few.
