Model of the Week: Trang Anh

Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Previously, we profiled Stella Bilanovic and this week we're turning our attention to Trang Anh. We caught up with the budding beauty to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
I've always had a hard time figuring out what I want to become. From the cradle, modeling sounded like a lot of fun, but I also wanted to pursue dozens of other dreams, from fashion design to accounting. I ended up studying Business Administration and just couldn't get into it. Ever since I started modeling, I feel much more fulfilled. It's also a way to make my family proud.

How were you scouted?
I applied online on the website of Modelwerk because that's the agency I've had in mind. They've got such talented photographers and bookers...I was truly surprised when they answered!

Your first modeling job?
Started with E-commerce for About You which was great to gain some first experience.

What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
Definitely getting to travel and meeting a lot of amazing people. You never know what to expect because every shooting is unique. Besides, I am amazed what modeling does to me: once I'm on-set I feel like a different person. Much more confident. Modeling is a lot of hard-work but it also gives you back as much, especially with regard to self-improvement and self-confidence.

Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
There really isn't someone in particular. Don't get me wrong, there are so many people I admire for their endurance and skills. But I most probably would start eagerly to become this person and I need to stay myself. Nevertheless, there isn't someone I worked with from whom I didn't learn anything.

What is your dream shoot/campaign?
Too many! I really would like to appear on 'Vogue' one day and I would love to walk for a big fashion brand at the fashion week.

Biggest lesson that modeling has taught you?
You can't look bad while posing even though you're sure you do haha. Just do it, don't overthink.

What's the best life advice you've ever received?
Stop shrinking to fit in places you have outgrown.

How do you stay in shape?
Work-outs, Yoga, a looot of walks...

How would you describe your style?
Hmmm...Elegant with a touch of sporty. I often combine monochrome colors with some bright accents. On other days, I wear different pastel colors. Really depends on my mood.

Denim or leather?
Silk

Heels or flats?
Flats

Vintage or contemporary fashion?
A mix

What is your guilty pleasure?
Ice Cream. In summer, in winter - all day, all night. Also applies for bubble tea.

When you're not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
Painting, petting all the dogs, having long and good conversations... I recently started to learn some instruments, too.

What are you working on now and what do you dream of happening in the future?
Graduate, getting placed in oversea agencies, finally figuring out what I want to become.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years' time?
I have no idea. But I also don't like to think about it. 10 years are far away, anything can happen. I rather let things naturally come to me. I have to trust that I will end up where I am supposed to be.

Thank you, Trang, for taking the time to talk with us!
