Wilhelmina Acquires London Model Agency Union Models

Wilhelmina Models one of the world's leading model management companies announced today that it had acquired London based modelling agency, Union Models. The move has been part of an effort to enhance brand recognition in Europe for Wilhelmina. Founded by Rachel Du Preez in 2005 Union Models is known for its selective representation of talent from the likes of Jessica Gomes and Elisabeth Erm.

Speaking on the acquisition Alex Vaickus, CEO Wilhelmina said, "It is an exciting time to establish a physical presence in Europe. We see London as the foundation to further enhance our brand recognition in key international markets and continue to establish Wilhelmina as a global player in the modeling industry."

"After 10 exciting years of nurturing and developing Union Models into the successful dynamic agency it is today, the time has come for us to take the next step in our evolution," states Rachel Du Preez. "I am thrilled to be a key player as Union Models evolves into Wilhelmina London."

Union Models will officially operate under the name Wilhelmina London with Preez providing guidance and consultation to during the transition and for a period of time thereafter.

Model representation seems to be following a new trend these days with Boutique Agencies being sought after by bigger agencies. Last month Elite World Wide was acquired Fresh Model Management.
