Newsmaker Of The Week - Sailor Brinkley Cook

Our Newsmaker this week is Sailor Brinkley Cook.

The budding model and daughter of Christie Brinkley is rising fast in the fashion world as she follows in her famous mothers footsteps. In November 2013 she signed an exclusive global representation deal with world-famous agency IMG Models.

Born July 2, 1998, Sailor is Brinkley's daughter by her fourth husband, architect Peter Cook, and her third and youngest child. She also has a son, Jack Paris, by Cook and a daughter, Alexa Ray, by second husband Billy Joel.

Sailor isn't entirely new to modelling and made her professional modeling debut in Teen Vogue's August 2013 issue. She scored her first official modeling gig in a 'Back to School' campaign for Claire's Accessories, alongside One Direction. She later appeared in an advert for Ralph Lauren and a joint cover with her mother for Bella magazine in July that year. Her rise to fashion continues as she become a guest on a.m. TV shows like Good Morning America, and has gained an impressive Instagram following.

Recently, the 17 year old blonde struck a pose in the pages of the September issue of Seventeen and revealed that she has aims to study photography at Parsons after she completes high school. "My mom is a model, so it's something I've always wanted to do. I started when I was 14!," she said, revealing that she always wanted to follow in Christie Brinkley's footsteps.

While her mother was a magazine and catwalk staple in the '90s there’s no denying the fact that she’s model material, given her model heritage and healthy all-American look as a spitting image of her mother.
