Swedish retailer H&M has released its latest designer collaboration (it's first of 2024) with emerging Korean brand Rokh.
Announced on the 19th March, the limited edition collection of reassembled essentials spans across womenswear, menswear and accessories. The 58-piece curated edit of wardrobe classics comprise of double-layer trench coats, detachable-hem dresses, corset tops, reworked trousers and denim, a subdued floral print top and pleated skirt set with matching gloves and tights, underwear and logo t-shirts, graphic two-tone metallic jewelry and playful office-inspired accessories, like a briefcase bag and an accordion file clutch.
All of the pieces in the collection are highly modifiable and can be layered, altered and even worn backwards. For this purpose, several of them feature interactive details such as detachable, adjustable elements, like hook-and-eye hems and button-up seams.
Founded by Korean-born, Texas-raised designer Rok Hwang, Rokh is known for its avant-garde timeless classics and experimental spins on wardrobe staples. A graduate of Central Saint Martin College, Hwang made his foray into the fashion industry at Phoebe Philo's Celine. From there he went on to work for Chloe and Louis Vuitton, ultimately establishing his own fashion label in 2016. This was followed by a show at Paris Fashion Week just three years later.
'Rokh is at the forefront of a new wave of Korean designers whose conceptual-yet-wearable clothes are captivating fashion right now. We're proud to present a curated edit of designer Rok Hwang's adaptable wardrobe classics, and we can't wait to see how our customers wear them,' said Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor and Head of Design Womenswear at H&M in a statement.
'Rokh designs have a classic appearance with a radical construction for a timeless approach to design. I'm very excited to share our vision with more customers around the world thanks to this milestone collection with H&M,' explained Hwang.
With the launch of the Rokh collection H&M marks 20 years of its much-loved designer collaboration series. Known for its affordability and functionality, the ingenious marketing endeavor began with Karl Lagerfeld and has since then released capsules from acclaimed designers like Isabel Marant, Rabanne, Mugler, Balmain, Giambattista Valli, Iris Apfel, Simone Rocha, and Viktor & Rolf.
The H&M x Rokh designer collaboration collection is available now in selected stores and on hm.com.
