Dior celebrates 70 years at Galeries Lafayette

On the occasion of its anniversary, Dior will be celebrated by Galeries Lafayette from 20 September to 10 October.

The French department store pays tribute to the creator and his favorite color through an unpublished exhibition and the launch of an exclusive birthday collection with 23 limited products. In addition to dedicating eleven of his impressive shop windows exclusively to Dior, a small fashion show will be held in the exhibition space of the store under the motto 'I feel blue', which will feature original designs by Christian Dior himself.

The show will feature twelve vintage outfits by Christian Dior, a navy wool coat from the debut collection in 1947, and a 1957 rose motif, the year of his death.

Exclusive pieces will be available for sale, specially designed for the occasion: mini-lady-dior bags printed with stars, gold-embroidered shoes, silk scarves with star images, fine gold jewelery and accessories in a distinctive "blue" to name a few.

At the same time, a large Dior exhibition 'Christian Dior, Designer of Dreams' will run in the Musee des Art Decoratifs in Paris, which will showcase the largest collection of photographs and drawings by all Dior designers of the last 70 years.
