Christian Louboutin pays homage to Portuguese craftsmanship with new tote

Christian Louboutin has released a new bag that honors Portugal.

Titled 'Portugaba', the new tote was conceived using Portuguese handicraft techniques and pays homage to the southern European country that has long been a source of inspiration and a second home for the French designer. Elaborate craftsmanship, such as ceramics and embroidery, can be found in the details of the colored bag, which were hand-made by different Portuguese craftsmen.

'Portugal is one of the places where I design my summer collections on a regular basis, the light, the relaxed attitude and the atmosphere here inspire me, and year after year I spend days exploring the different regions of the country,' said Louboutin.

Priced at 1,659 euros the Portugaba is the fourth bag after Africaba, Mexicaba and Manilacaba which Louboutin dedicated to a significant region in the world for him. It is available now in a light and a dark version at Louboutin.com.
