Chanel to launch new 'Gabrielle' bag

Chanel is set to launch its new 'Gabrielle' bag this April with a campaign photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.

The iconic brand has tapped Kristen Stewart, Caroline de Maigret, Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne as guests of honor to star in the campaign. The four guests have close ties to the luxury label: Stewart has appeared in several Chanel fashion and beauty campaigns since 2013, model Caroline de Maigret is a close friend of Karl Lagerfeld while Pharrell appeared in a short film on the occasion of the "Metiers d'Art" show in Salzburg in 2014; he composed the film's music and danced and sang together with Cara Delevingne. Delevingne walked for the Metiers d'Art show 2016 at the Ritz Paris.

The new 'Gabrielle' bag which was presented at Chanel's Spring / Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear-Show at Paris Fashion Week is inspired by the futuristic aesthetics of Augmented Reality glasses. Adapting to every character, situation or mood it can be worn over the shoulder, across the shoulder or as a combination of both with the chain being placed over one shoulder and then diagonally across the other shoulder. The adjustable strap comes with a double chain woven from leather and golden and silver metal. Made from vintage calfskin it can be individually customized and will be available as a Hobo bag in three formats: a backpack, a shopper and a soft portemonnaie in different color combinations.

The new Chanel "Gabrielle" Bag is a sly bow to Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel and the first look of the campaign will be launched on 3 April 2017.
