Southeby's to Auction Mary Tyler Moore's Jewelry Collection



British art and luxury auction house Southeby's has announced that it will auction jewelry from the collection of legendary American TV icon Mary Tyler Moore.

Titled 'Jewels from the Collection of Mary Tyler Moore', the sale is a part of Southeby's 'Magnificent Jewels and Fine Jewels' auctions in New York this December. It comprises of 21 pieces owned by the star - including a Bulgari Roman coin (est. 25,000-35,000 USD), a 5.14-carat emerald-cut diamond ring (est. 40,000-60,000 USD), an Audemars Piguet Gold and Diamond wristwatch (est. 4,000-6,000 USD), a steel and diamond Jaeger-LeCoultre wristwatch (4,000-6,0000 USD) and a diamond ring with a wide gold band (est. 50,000-70,000 USD).

Proceeds from sale the will benefit The Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative, a non-profit organization that seeks to preserve and restore vision in people with diabetes, and continues Mary's vital work as it honors her legacy.

In addition to Mary Tyler Moore, Southeby's Magnificent Jewels features items from the collections of Frank and Barbara Sinatra, Red Skelton and Tony Randall as well as Jewels from storied houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Harry Winston and David Webb. The Magnificent Jewels auction will take place on December 5, and the Fine Jewels auction will be open for bidding from November 28 to December 7.

Highlights from the collection will travel to Los Angeles from 14 - 16 November, before returning to New York for public exhibition beginning 1 December, alongside Luxury Week - a sales series that showcases the best of the best in each of Sotheby's Luxury categories.
