Pirelli cancels its 2021 Calendar donates 100,000 Euros to Coronavirus Research

Pirelli has announced the cancellation of the production and launch of its highly anticipated 2020 Calendar in light of the Coronavirus Pandemic. To date, this has only happened twice in Pirelli's history: in 1967 and from 1975 to 1983. The Italian tyre company also announced that it will donate 100,000 euros to support the fight against and research into the Coronavirus.

'The production of the Pirelli Calendar has been stopped before, in 1967 and then from 1975 to 1983. The unprecedented COVID-19 emergency has forced us to do so again today. We will return to the project when the time is right, together with the people who today were working on it with us', said the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera.

Titled "Looking for Juliet" the 2020 Pirelli Cal was lensed by Italian photographer Paolo Roversi in Paris and Verona. Based on William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet, Roversi set out in search of a modern version of unhappy and daring lovers. The all-star cast included Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson, Claire Foy, Mia Goth, Chinese musician Chris Lee, Indya Moore, musician Rosalia, Yara Shahidi and Roversi's daughter Stella.
