Tereza Maxová is a Czech photographer and visual artist based in Prague. She is best known for her surreal, dreamlike images that explore the relationship between nature and the human body.

Maxová was born in Prague in 1985. She studied photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, graduating with a degree in photography and multimedia in 2009. After graduation, she began to develop her own unique style of photography, combining elements of nature with the human form to create surreal images that explore themes of identity and transformation.

Maxová has exhibited her work internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Her work has also been featured in numerous publications such as Vogue Italia, The New York Times Magazine, and Harper’s Bazaar.

In addition to her photographic work, Maxová is also an accomplished filmmaker. Her short films have been screened at film festivals around the world including Cannes Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. In 2017 she was awarded Best Short Film at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam for her film “The Unseen” which explores themes of identity through a series of dreamlike sequences.

Maxová continues to push boundaries with her work by exploring new ways to combine photography with other mediums such as video art and installation art. Her work has been praised for its ability to capture both beauty and emotion while exploring complex themes such as identity and transformation.
