Stephanie Pfaender is a German photographer and visual artist based in Berlin. She is known for her unique and captivating images that explore the relationship between people and their environment.

Born in 1982, Stephanie grew up in a small town near Munich, Germany. From an early age, she was drawn to the visual arts, particularly photography. She studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and graduated with a degree in Visual Communication.

After graduating, Stephanie moved to Berlin where she began her career as a professional photographer. She quickly gained recognition for her work, which often featured intimate portraits of people in their natural environment. Her work has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue, GQ, and The New York Times Magazine.

In addition to her commercial work, Stephanie has also developed several personal projects that explore themes such as identity and belonging. Her most recent project “The Other Side” focuses on the lives of refugees living in Germany and how they are adapting to their new home. The project has been exhibited at various galleries around Europe and was recently published as a book by Hatje Cantz Verlag.

Stephanie’s work has been recognized with numerous awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Portrait Series (2015) and the Sony World Photography Award (2016). She continues to push boundaries with her photography while exploring new ways of telling stories through her images.
