Micaiah Carter is an award-winning photographer and visual artist based in New York City. He has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Vogue, and GQ, and his work has been exhibited in galleries around the world.

Carter was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in a creative family. His mother was a painter and his father was a musician. From an early age, he was exposed to the arts and developed a passion for photography. He attended the University of Southern California where he studied photography and film. After graduating, he moved to New York City to pursue his career as a professional photographer.

Carter’s work focuses on capturing moments of beauty and emotion that often go unnoticed or overlooked. He has photographed celebrities such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z for magazines like Vogue and GQ. His work has also been featured in campaigns for brands like Nike, Adidas, Apple Music, and Beats by Dre. In addition to commercial projects, Carter also works on personal projects that explore themes of identity, culture, race, gender, sexuality, and more.

In 2020 Carter won the prestigious International Center of Photography Infinity Award for his series “The Last Dance” which documented the final days of the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem before it closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. His work has been exhibited at galleries around the world including The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and The Photographers’ Gallery in London.

Carter is passionate about using his platform to create positive change through art and activism. He is an advocate for social justice causes such as Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights. He is also committed to mentoring young photographers from underrepresented communities who are interested in pursuing careers in photography or visual arts.
