Maya Fuhr is a Canadian photographer and visual artist based in Toronto. She is best known for her vibrant, surrealistic images that explore themes of identity, gender, and sexuality.

Fuhr was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1991. She began her career as a photographer at the age of 16 when she started taking pictures of her friends and family. After graduating from high school, she moved to Toronto to pursue a degree in photography at Ryerson University.

During her time at Ryerson, Fuhr developed an interest in fashion photography and began working with local designers and magazines. Her work quickly gained recognition for its unique style and vibrant colors. In 2014, she was named one of the top emerging photographers by the Canadian Photography Magazine.

In 2015, Fuhr released her first solo exhibition titled “The Other Side” which featured photographs exploring themes of identity and gender roles. The exhibition was met with critical acclaim and was featured in several publications including Vogue Magazine.

Since then, Fuhr has continued to create stunning images that challenge traditional notions of beauty and identity. Her work has been exhibited around the world including New York City, London, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, Los Angeles and more. In 2018 she released her first book titled “The Other Side: A Collection of Photographs” which features some of her most iconic images from the past decade.

Today Fuhr continues to push boundaries with her photography while inspiring others to explore their own identities through art.
