About

Mark Rabadán is a Spanish photographer and visual artist based in Madrid. He is best known for his vibrant and colorful images of everyday life, which often feature people in their natural environment.

Rabadán was born in Madrid in 1975 and grew up surrounded by art and culture. His father was a painter, while his mother was a sculptor, so it's no surprise that he developed an interest in the visual arts from an early age. He began taking photographs at the age of 15, and soon after he enrolled at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid to study photography.

After graduating, Rabadán began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers. His work quickly gained recognition for its unique style, which combines elements of documentary photography with vivid colors and bold compositions. He has since become one of Spain's most celebrated photographers, with his work appearing in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, Vogue España, El País Semanal, GQ España, Marie Claire España, among others.

In addition to his editorial work, Rabadán has also exhibited his photographs around the world. His solo exhibitions have been held at venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid (MUSAC), the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga (CAC Málaga), the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (CARS) in Madrid, and many more. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout Europe and Latin America.

Rabadán's work has been recognized with several awards including the National Photography Prize from Spain's Ministry of Culture (2005), the International Photography Award from Sony World Photography Awards (2008), and the International Photography Award from Hasselblad Foundation (2009). In 2020 he was awarded with the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts by Spain's Ministry of Culture.

Today Mark Rabadán continues to explore new ways to capture life through his lens while inspiring others to do the same.
