Joseph Lokko is a Ghanaian-born photographer based in London, England. He is known for his vibrant and captivating images that capture the beauty of everyday life.

Joseph was born in Accra, Ghana in 1988. He grew up surrounded by art and culture, which inspired him to pursue a career in photography. After graduating from high school, he moved to London to study photography at the University of Westminster. During his studies, he developed an interest in documentary photography and began exploring the city’s diverse cultures and communities.

After graduating with a degree in photography, Joseph began working as a freelance photographer for various publications and brands. His work has been featured in publications such as The Guardian, The New York Times, Vogue Italia, and The Financial Times. He has also worked with brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Apple Music.

In addition to his commercial work, Joseph has also created several personal projects that explore themes of identity and belonging. His series “The Other Side” documents the lives of immigrants living in London while “The Journey Home” follows the stories of African migrants returning home after living abroad for many years. These projects have been exhibited at galleries around the world including the Tate Modern in London and the Brooklyn Museum in New York City.

Joseph’s work has earned him numerous awards including a World Press Photo Award for his series “The Other Side” as well as a Magnum Foundation Grant for his project “The Journey Home”. He is currently working on several new projects that explore themes of identity and belonging within contemporary society.
