John was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1975. He began taking photographs at a young age, and soon developed a passion for capturing the beauty of his homeland. After graduating from high school, he attended the National University of Colombia where he studied photography and visual arts.

In 2000, John moved to New York City to pursue his career as a professional photographer. He quickly gained recognition for his work, and has since had his photographs featured in numerous publications including The New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, and Vogue. His work has also been exhibited in galleries around the world including London’s Tate Modern and Paris’s Centre Pompidou.
