Jason Schmidt is an American photographer and artist based in New York City. He is best known for his iconic portraits of celebrities, musicians, and other public figures.

Born in Los Angeles, California in 1971, Schmidt grew up surrounded by the creative energy of the city. He developed an early interest in photography and began taking pictures at a young age. After graduating from high school, he attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, where he studied photography and graphic design.

In 1994, Schmidt moved to New York City to pursue a career as a professional photographer. His first major assignment was shooting for Rolling Stone magazine. Since then, he has worked with some of the world’s most renowned publications including Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker. His work has also been featured in numerous solo exhibitions around the world.

Throughout his career, Schmidt has become known for his unique style of portraiture which often features bold colors and dramatic lighting effects. He has photographed some of the most recognizable faces in entertainment including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and many more.
