James was born in London in 1985 and grew up surrounded by art and culture. His parents were both artists, so it was only natural that he would develop an interest in photography. He began taking pictures at the age of 12, using his father's old film camera.

At the age of 18, James enrolled at the University of Westminster to study photography and media production. During his studies, he developed an interest in documentary photography and began to focus on capturing everyday moments that often go unnoticed. After graduating with a degree in photography, James decided to pursue a career as a professional photographer.

In 2010, James opened his own studio in London where he works on commercial projects as well as personal projects. He has also exhibited his work at galleries around the world including the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
